OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR OF HUMANITARIAN SERVICE AND VALUE ORIENTATION As Director of Humanitarian Service and Value Orientation at Delta State University, (Student Union Government), I partnered with the Director of Health, Safety, and Environment to develop and execute a comprehensive program focused on enhancing student well-being. HEALTH WEEK 2025-YOUR HEALTH,YOUR POWER *Why We Organized This Program:* 1. *Promoting Health and Well-being*: We recognized the importance of educating students on healthy habits, disease prevention, and management to empower them to make informed decisions about their health. 2. *Addressing Gender-Based Violence*: We aimed to raise awareness, provide support, and create a safe and respectful campus culture, acknowledging the pervasive impact of gender-based violence on students' mental and physical well-being. 3. *Early Detection and Prevention*: By offering free health check-ups, we enabled early detection of health issues, preventing long-term consequences and promoting overall well-being. *Benefits of the Program:* 1. *Improved Health Outcomes*: By promoting healthy habits and providing access to free health check-ups, we contributed to reducing the risk of chronic diseases and improving overall health outcomes. 2. *Safer Campus Environment*: Our efforts to address gender-based violence and promote a culture of respect helped create a safer and more supportive campus environment. 3. *Increased Awareness and Support*: The program provided students with the knowledge, resources, and support needed to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. 4. *Enhanced Academic Performance*: By promoting health, well-being, and safety, we likely contributed to improved academic performance, attendance, and overall success. 5. *Community Building*: The program fostered a sense of community and social responsibility, empowering students to support one another and create a positive campus culture.
